Service Technician

Spatial Technologies is a Calgary based company providing Geomatics solutions to the Western Canadian Surveying industry. Founded in 2002 and led by three former Leica Geosystems employees Spatial are the exclusive sales and authorized service center for Leica high end Geomatics products. With offices in Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver, Spatial sells services and rents a complete range of surveying equipment ranging from basic construction lasers to 3D laser scanners. We currently have an opportunity for a Service Technician in our Calgary office. The person in this position will maintain, repair and upgrade surveying equipment (including GPS, TPS, computers and software). ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Perform service diagnostics and assist in the preparation of estimates. Repairs equipment as required. Complete equipment calibration and cleaning services as assigned. Checks service diagnostics programs and makes change recommendations. Checks new versions of software for bugs and makes change recommendations. Supports service and sales personnel Supports customer and support personnel Answers customer inquiries related to service issues Adhere to Leica service protocols.

Interested candidates should have the following minimum qualifications:

  • Associate's degree (AA) in Electronics or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; and three years related experience with Geomatics Instruments including TPS and GPS
  • Fluency in English is an absolute requirement.
  • Some lifting of items up to 50 pounds or greater is required. The position requires particular vision requirements including the ability to adjust focus or adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus.
  • Strong computer skills, including software/hardware installation and configuration and troubleshooting in Windows. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Microsoft Excel and Word.

Geomatics - Technical Sales

Our Edmonton operations are expanding and we are seeking a motivated individual to service and support the growing needs of the Edmonton regional area geomatics market.

We are looking for a Technical Sales Representative to service and support the surveying market working out of our Edmonton office.

Interested candidates should have the following minimum qualifications:

  • BSc in Geomatics combined with a proven track record selling Leica Geosystems High End products.
  • Experience with manual and robotic Total Stations, GNSS Real Time Kinematic (RTK) is essential
  • Enjoys working with and demonstrating the latest technical and most respected brand of surveying instruments in the market.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Computer literate
  • Self-disciplined, highly organized with strategic planning skills and the ability to work independently
  • Team player
