Rick Kurash - President & C.E.O.
Rick began his career in the surveying industry in the 60s lugging a stadia rod around the foothills for a Calgary seismic company. In 1972 he joined the Norman Wade Company selling Wild surveying equipment. When Wild Leitz (which became Leica) went direct in 1983 Rick started up their Alberta operations. Rick stayed with Leica for 19 years leaving as Vice President of Sales for Canada and Western U.S. In 2002 he and Brett founded Spatial Technologies Inc. Rick credits the success of the company to its consultive and ethical selling style and commitment to providing the highest levels of customer support.

Brett Findlater - Vice President
Brett studied Computer Programming at Mount Royal College and then completed the Surveying Certificate program @ SAIT. Brett has been selling and supporting Calgary customers for over 15 years. Brett worked for Leica Geosystems as a direct sales representative before forming Spatial Technologies with Rick Kurash in 2002. Brett has enjoyed his years working with the Alberta and Saskatchewan survey community and is looking forward to many more fulfilling years in continuing to help grow Spatial Technologies as a leading supplier to the Geomatics industry.

Richard Andrews - Vice President
Most of you will know RICHARD ANDREWS from his role as GPS Technical Specialist with Leica. Richard graduated from the Geomatics Engineering program at the U of C in 1991, after which he went into private practice in British Columbia receiving his BCLS commission in 1994 and CLS in 1997. He managed a medium sized surveying firm in Pentiction before joining Leica in 1998, working initially in GPS technical support for Western Canada. He became Leica North America�s liaison with Heerbrugg for GPS product development. Richard is responsible for all aspects of our HDS laser scanning business as well as continuing to provide first rate technical training and support.

Matt Teppler - Inside Sales, Calgary
Matt Teppler graduated from the University of Calgary in 2003 with a BSc in Geography specializing in GIS and remote sensing. He spends the majority of his time in the service shop providing customers with all levels of service support. With service training from both Leica and Juniper systems, he is capable of providing quality, factory certified repair to Leica GPS equipment as well as Allegro data collectors. In addition to his responsibilities in the service shop, Matt prepares and manages Spatial's extensive rental fleet, provides assistance to the rest of the Spatial team during various training seminars and deals with much of the shipping and receiving.

Val Wallace - Accountant
Val is the newest member of the Spatial team. With a strong background in finance and accounting she takes over the position of accountant.

Keith Taylor - Service Manager
Keith Taylor joined the Spatial team on November 1st, 2004. Educated as an instrument maker with Hilger & Watts in London, England, Keith emigrated to Canada in 1967. After moving to Halifax in 1971, Keith started a repair business servicing WILD equipment with The Norman Wade Company. Two years later Keith moved his business into the Calgary offices of Norman Wade. When WILD went direct in 1983 Keith and Rick Kurash left Norman Wade together and started up the Alberta office of WILD LEITZ � subsequently Leica Geosystems. Keith is well known and widely respected as the best instrument technician in Alberta. His knowledge and experience in the field of surveying instrument repair is second to none, and our clients and partners enjoy his witty humor and down to earth character.

Burke Asay - Technical Sales, Edmonton
Educated in Geomatics at BCIT Burke has several years experience using Leica equipment in the field as a Senior Surveyor in the USA. He was also part of Leica's software development team in Montreal prior to joining Spatial. Burke's customer focused style ensures client satisfaction.

Ted Kusovac - Inside Sales, Edmonton
Ted Kusovac joined the Spatial�s Edmonton office in November, 2005. Ted is a highly resourceful inside sales and support representative with over 20 years of professional Oilfield Supply, Industrial, Survey, GPS and Forestry experience. His career began with the selling of valves, pipe and fittings to the oilfield industry in the early eighties. Through the 80s and 90s, Ted worked for a number of companies, including Century Vallen and Canadian Forestry Equipment. His philosophy that he will do whatever is necessary to ensure that every customer is 110% is a part of what makes him such a great success. Ted�s extensive experience and education are a valuable addition to the Spatial Technologies� Edmonton office.

Yuri Degtiar - Service Technician, Edmonton
Yuri joined the Spatial team on July 1, 2005. Yuri will take charge of the service department in our new Edmonton office opening soon. In 1975 Yuri graduated with a BSc in Electrical Engineering from the Ural Technical University in Russia. In 1979 Yuri began his career developing electronic distance measurement equipment and received his Masters in 1989, further developing his skills and expertise. In 2000 Yuri moved to Israel where he joined the Leica dealer, training on Leica and Sokkia instruments and receiving factory training in Switzerland. Yuri is certified on Leica total stations from 300 through to 1200 and is scheduled for factory training and certification on GPS soon. Yuri�s vast technical experience can help you with your questions and repair issues.

Parker Adams - Technical Sales, BC
Parker graduated from the University of Northern British Columbia in 1998 with a BSc in Natural Resource Management. Parker has been selling and supporting British Columbia surveying clients with Leica Geosystems products for 10 years. Before that, Parker spent 5 years working as a surveyor for a construction company and 3 years performing GPS surveys for a consulting company both in Northern British Columbia. Parker knows the territory and the needs of his clients and enjoys being there and readily available to help reach their goals.

Keith Belsham - Technical Sales, BC
Keith has been selling and supporting surveying equipment for customers in B.C for over 12 years. He completed a diploma in Geomatics Technology at BCIT in 1996, and worked in the Land Surveying industry. Keith has had extensive training on Leica’s GNSS & Total Station products and enjoys helping customers find the tools that best suit their requirements. Keith is located in the Vancouver Lower Mainland area, and will be working from our newest branch which will open in early 2010.

Nara Crawford - Inside Sales BC
Nara graduated from BCIT’s Geomatics diploma program in May of 2009. Prior to that she was employed as a survey assistant on the Sea to Sky highway improvement project. She has also interned with a survey firm in England. Nara will work out of our Vancouver office as an inside sales coordinator supporting our BC sales team. She will maintain and manage our rental fleet as well as providing first line technical support on Geomatics products. Nara is excited to be involved in the Vancouver operations making use of her education and experience to provide our clients top quality service and support.

Victor Russell - Construction and Wholesale Sales
Victor has been selling and supporting users of survey equipment over the past 34 years and is widely known and respected in the industry.. He completed his diploma in Geomatics Technology at BCIT in 1975.
His sales focus will be on our construction product line as well as the wholesale market. Victor will be working from our Vancouver lower mainland office opening in early 2010.
